Electronic Business

Electronic Business

Printer-friendly version

Electronic Business harnesses computer and communication technologies in order to support business processes. This concept is not new, but the widespread availability of the Internet has accelerated the use of telecommunications and changed the nature of the exchange in the areas of information, services, money, and products.

While the Internet has influenced all functional areas of business, the most dramatic impact has been in new forms of marketing, supply chain management and information systems that extend beyond traditional organisational boundaries. Consequently, the Electronic Business major complements studies in either Marketing or Information Management, enhancing those areas with the specialized knowledge required for today’s business world.
